I am currently exploring the use of art and natural pigments with children with diverse abilities and needs. It has always been a struggle to find art engagements and materials that are accessible for children with many abilities. I was surprised to realize how many mediums of color can be used within our own kitchens and “backyards” that are simple and easy to work with.
My attempt is to move natural pigments away from the inaccessible, fashionable facets and shed light to the idea that color is everywhere and has been a part of our lives for thousands of years.
Despite sometimes having an idea in mind, the process is often intuitively brought on by the feelings at hand and brush that often unfolds in surprising and unexpected ways. Every tune and movement is hoped to be inspired by natural feelings that arise and move the subject along.
Thank you for letting me share them with you!
